Bespoke Ring No. 14: Minimalist Dendritic Agate Statement Ring

A more petite, elegant counterpart to the other ring in the collection, this refined ring brings a minimalist focus to raw, natural beauty, crafted with a soft, tactile matte finish that highlights its clean lines.

Though scaled down in width, it loses none of its impact; the stone sits at a satisfying 5mm height from the band, giving the piece a distinct presence on the hand.

At its heart sits a completely unique, rounded oval dendritic agate with a haunting translucent whiteness. Preserved inside the stone is a striking silhouette that looks remarkably like a solitary palm tree standing tall against a sky with faint, golden cloud streaks. Bringing to mind those Australian summer days so hot and still that the sky is almost bleached of colour.

To ensure all attention is focused on this natural artwork, the agate is nestled in a matte-finished fine silver bezel, augmented by a single sterling silver prong set just off-center from the inclusion.

On the reverse, a clean, matte sterling silver backplate securely houses the stone, proudly bearing our maker’s mark and a standard 925 hallmark stamped on a round disc.

Designed for Wearability 

Even with its more delicate proportions, wearability and stability remain central to the design. This ring has been crafted to stay upright on your finger without the “spinning” that occurs with top heavy settings.

• The Band: A comfortable, 2.5mm wide, half round sterling silver band that sits elegantly on the hand.
• Ergonomic Anti-Spin Geometry: Because the stone is more scaled-down than the robust version, this band maintains a clean circular appearance without needing the pronounced U-shape. Instead, the interior features a flat D-shaped top profile. The flat edge rests flush against the finger, acting as a discreet stabiliser to balance the 5mm tall stone and eliminate top-heavy spinning.

Sizing & Fit Note

Because of its unique, ergonomic interior shape, this ring behaves a little differently than a standard circular band: 

• The Size: the band was cut to fit a Size K to K1/2
• The Fit: Due to the projection of the stone setting, and the unique contours of individual hands, it may feel slightly different on the finger. However, the flat-top design makes the sizing more forgiving than a traditional round ring.
• Please Note: Due to the stone type and design, this ring cannot be resized after it is made.

Born from mineral-rich water depositing trace iron and manganese as it travelled through microscopic fractures, these branching inclusions function as nature’s organic illustrations. Evolving under unpredictable elemental pressures, no two gemstones can ever be alike. Each inclusion creates an unrepeatable visual landscape that is permanently framed in precious metals.

every piece is uniquely hand-fabricated inside my Northern Sydney garden studio. I use primarily fine silver, 925 sterling silver - recycled, when possible - combined with various gold alloys (ranging from 9-18ct) as accents. My work features curated, non-standard gemstones chosen specifically for their rare inclusions and raw, unrepeatable crystalline geometry. Visible tool marks and natural textures are intentional architectural elements of the design.

Often my work is oxidised - a chemical process that darkens the silver to varying degrees, even entirely black. Oxidised work is sealed with a special wax to maximise the patina's lifespan but by its nature, a patina is a superficial finish and not entirely permanent. Wear from friction is a natural, expected part of the finish. To clean oxidised sterling silver, wash gently with room temperature water and a mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Do not use chemical jewellery dips, sonic cleaners, or harsh polishing cloths, as these will strip away the intentional dark patinas and can permanently damage delicate druzy crusts or raw mineral inclusions. Store your wearable sculpture flat, in its own box and in a dry space away from direct moisture and prolonged sunlight.
